Dear members,
As I sit here the morning after our exhibition I have mixed feelings and emotions, tired, yes but so are many others, proud, definitely and so should you all be.
The club went into this years exhibition with so many unknowns unanswered, yet we came out of it with an outstanding success. That is not just my opinion but mainly of the visitors who took the time to say so, many from other camera clubs both local and international. Yes, I spent some time talking to an American couple who quote "were passing through to Salisbury and just had to stop". It was great to see many of you at the hall to see a superb display of work by the brave ones who put up their work, some we have seen before but many more were new or previously not seen images. Your committee, all of them did a great job, however I must mention one particular man. John Walter spent weeks working on the new display boards and stands, he spent many hours working on the equipment and his ingenuity with so many different problems are in my mind exceptional. To all of the members who helped with setting up and taking down the display at both Stockbridge and back at Timsbury,my thanks, your efforts were much apprieciated.
May I offer the clubs wishes for a speedy recovery to Pat Ball's dad who is currently unwell and also to Tom Drew possibly our oldest member, we have sent him a get well card from the club.
One last chance for you to see another exhibition of images, thats today and Tuesday at the 'Bridge Gallery' Bedford Place Southampton. Called "For love of the sea" it is images taken by Louise Gardner or her husband, I'm told it is worth a visit.
Check out our website, Peter Read was busy with his camera at the exhibition! Link directly HERE
My regards and keep snapping
Terry
