Chairman's Newsletter No. 55

Dear all
The scores for the AV evening last week were out of a possible 175 points, here are the results:

1st place Hilliers in Autumn by Tony & Betty Rackham 158 points
2nd place Colour of the Wind by Terry Jamieson 146 points
3rd place African Safari by Steve Williams 143 points
4th place The Punch & Judy Man by Terry Jamieson 141.5 points
joint 5th place 140.5 points
Flying from Bournemouth by Pat Ball
Hilliers Centenary Border by Tony & Betty Rackham

The Christmas Card evening resulted in the choosing of a beautiful picture of sheep in the snow taken by Lisa Baker Richardson, this image was way ahead in votes than any of the other shortlisted images.
Well done to all these authors.

The second half of the evening we were captivated by a tutorial by David Noton, called Chasing the Light. David shared with us his approach to getting the best possible images. This was enjoyed by everyone present and I am sure it has whetted the appetite to attend one of his lectures. Unfortunately the one Jill mentioned in Andover is sold out but he will be at Bournemouth Electric Camera Club(not to be mixed up with Bournemouth Photographic Society) on the 17th November, visit David's or the BECC website for details. David will also be giving this lecture next March at the Southampton Memorial event, again details can be found on Southampton's website.

Next week is assessment evening with Alan Cooke judging our images, please ensure you send them in by Friday evening.

Andrew Kirby is still in hospital at this moment in time as he is still undergoing therapy to get his mobility back. Again we wish him well and I am sure he would welcome any visits from members. If you are able to pop in and see him then please contact Margaret first.

See you all next week
Lynn
