PAGB News No 39

Hi All
Welcome to the Issue 39 of e-news which is mainly concerned with an obituary for Don Morrison but has some important news for those who have sent entries to the 2011 GB Cups plus several notices of forthcoming events and an interesting article on judges manipulating Digital Images that they are judging in club competitions.

Issue 40 of e-news in February will be distributed via the "managed distribution" which I recently informed you of. Already we have transferred our database and, if you know of anyone who would like to subscribe, please direct them to www.pagbnews.co.uk/enewssubform.html I would like to assure you again of the confidentiality and security of this database. Your address will not be shared with any other business or person and we will only use it for e-news and related supplements, none of which you need download unless you are interested in the content.

We will be using HTML in future for future e-news, a simple document which will link you seamlessly to the current issue of e-news on a website. We will also list back issues and this means that those of you who load it to websites will probably have the option of loading a link instead of the entire e-news although we do not object if you prefer to do it that way.

BANNER/PAGE HEADER Can anyone design a banner for e-news that we can use on the website and probably as header for the newsletter? I know there are many creative readers out there and I'm sure we could make a design statement. The only rule is that it must incorporate the (rather old fashioned) PAGB logo and that our title, e-news, is written lower case just as I have used it.

e-news is compressed as much as possible and is only suitable for screen viewing.  If you need a copy to print for your club or for someone who has no e-mail please let me know and I will send a larger file.
