Subject: SPF: Important & Urgent information regarding the May Quarterly Meeting


It is now getting round to that time of year again when there are several bits and pieces to do before the summer break.

Firstly, please send a mixture of your members Monochrome and Colour Prints with your club rep to the Quarterly Meeting on Thursday 21st May, (those eagle eyed amongst you will notice that it is the Thursday and not the Wednesday 21st as accidentally published!).

The 2009 PAGB Inter-Fed Print Competition and Exhibition is coming up and without your support we cannot enter, it is also one of the best opportunities for your members to have their work shown in such a large national competition, all accepted work will be shown throughout the 15 PAGB Federations. [A maximum of two Mono and two Colour prints per member please, and they must be mounted on 40 by 50 cm (or 50 by 40) mounts which should ideally be not more than 4mm thick (if they are the PAGB reserves the right not to display them), prints must not have Velcro attached to the back which could damage other prints, and cannot have been entered into any previous PAGB Inter-Fed Competition and Exhibition, a member/club can only support one Federation in a year.]

An SPF selection committee will then choose the best work to go forward and represent us nationally, PAGB Certificates and Medals are awarded for this competition so if you have some excellent work, please let us enter it, and you could have a chance of winning.

Secondly, if you have someone in your club who is interested in working to maintain and improve the work of the Federation ask them and nominate them! We have one new member on the Council, Les Lloyd and he is already making great progress in constructing a NEW website for the SPF, if you haven't had a chance to have a look follow this link http://www.southernfed.org.uk/newWeb/spf/Home.html

And finally, thank you for reading all this, please make sure you are aware of all that is going on within the Federation.

Also don't forget this SUNDAY 26th April, is Finals Day at Overton, a great day remember to bring your Best Slide and Best Print from the League, and see some of the excellent work the Federation has to offer! We hope to see you there.
