Mottisfont Exhibitions

One of the photographers exhibiting at the Winchester Discovery Centre is local wildlife and landscape photographer, Paul Sansome. He gained a "Highly Commended" for his "Terns in a Queue". I mention this because Paul has a one man exhibition starting at Mottisfont Abbey, tomorrow - Saturday 31 July. The exhibition runs until Thursday 12th August. Note that Mottisfont is not open on Fridays.

I have just come from assisting with the set up, and it's a stunning exhibition.

If you are a National Trust member then entry is free - otherwise normal Mottisfont NT admission charges apply to gain access to the gardens, river walks, house and exhibitions. There is even a new ice cream parlour!

Mottisfont is actually a good day out for all the family. They also have a very interesting Beatrix Potter exhibition at the moment of some of the original watercolours she painted to illustrate her books. Evidently these paintings are only exhibited every ten years or so!

Another one for the diary - Andover Split Image Photographic Society will be exhibiting at Mottisfont later this year - Saturday 28th August to Thursday 2nd September.

Regards,
Roy Brophy

  1. Sheila and I went to Paul's exhibition yesterday [2nd August] following on from Roy's message above and so we met Paul. We thought for the first time since we had missed his talk at Viewfinders 20th October 2009.
But he remembered us from a talk we had given to the club he was in then Locksheath and Sarisbury last century. Paul has come a long way since.
