Chairmans Newsletter No.48

Hi All,
As we have no meetings during August this is the last newsletter for a couple of weeks, just a couple of opportunities to take advantage of and a reminder of our return in September.

August 14 - 21 Chichester Camera Club Exhibition, The Assembley Rooms, North Street Chichester open daily except Sundays 10am - 5pm

National Trust members why not visit Mottisfont Abbey, and take a wander around Paul Sansome's exhibition, visited this today, a great exhibition with some wonderful images, mainly landscapes. Paul is a local photographer living in the Winchester area.

Ben Osborne, Private View at the Winchester Discovery Centre August 24 7.30pm £10, Ben was the 2007 overall winner of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition.

August 28 - 30, Viewfinders exhibition at Stockbridge, well worth a visit to show support for the club and its members who are displaying work.

A couple of photo opportunities: Portsmouth International Kite Festival, Southsea Common, August 28 - 30 - should be a colourful opportunity, can you make a 'simplicity' opportunity??

If you are interested in history how about the Battle of Basing at Basing House, nr Basingstoke; described as 'civil war history comes to life' August 28.

Last but no least we return on the 7th September with a print lecutre by Ken Scott 'Besides and Beyond', not to be missed, Ken is a very enthuasiastic speaker with a real passion for his photography.

I will also be looking to collect work in for choosing our entries to the Southern Fed league competition and exhibition so will happily take any prints on the 7th and 14th September, don't forget for this we want your best highest scoring work.

Have a good break,
Lynn
